    Just got an iPhone 3GS...

Just upgraded/downgraded/sidegraded? Call it whatever you like! I just changed from my blackberry to a new iPhone 3GS so that I can get the Vodafone SureSignal (which is a box in the UK that you plug into your wireless and you get PERFECT 3G signal within a reasonable distance).

Anyway, I'm sure a lot of you guys have these things. What are the best apps, both photography related and otherwise?

    Cheers,
    pip

I bought a whole bunch of camera apps when I first got my iPhone. There are 3 that I settled on as the best for me. Two of the apps fill just about all my shooting needs, but neither does everything I need at one time The distinctions between the two have blurred over time as both products have improved through regular updates. The first is Camera Genius by CodeGoo. Lot of good useability features, I use the voice activated shutter for self-portraits. The other good shooting app is Snapture. I love the way it zooms in and out with pinch gestures, and adjusts DOF, and exposure on whatever I point at. These are the type of features I would dearly love to see on my next camera, the 5D mark III.

For editing, I tried a bunch of losers and only use Best Camera. You apply changes as filters, and either accept or reject the result. I would like to have more control over the changes, but if your image is good in-camera, you can tweak it a little in post. I use it to pump up the saturation in some images and to add a border. Not a lot of creative latitude at all, but none of the editing apps I tried were better thatn this one.

Aside from that, I use facebook, Pandora, and an podcast app called Stitcher. It lets me listen to live radio stations all over the U.S. and I can download podcasts directly.

I use Simple DOF for depth of field calculations (with good results).
    A simple, free app
