    Turning Off Pocket Wizard

Silly question...I shoot with a 5D Mark ii and use a Pocket Wizard Mini TT1 transmitter. But sometimes, I want to shoot a scene with and without flash. So what's the best way to turn OFF the flash? If I just switch off the TT1, the camera apparently still thinks it's going to flash because the shutter maxes out at sync speed. The only solution I've found is to remove the TT1 from the hot shoe. But I know there's a better way, right? Any advice would be appreciated.

Does this happen even if you turn your camera off and back on with the TT1 turned off?

I just tried turning the camera off, then turning the TT1 off. But when I switch the camera back on, it still sees the TT1 as a flash unit and still limits my shutter speed. Apparently as long as the TT1 is in the hot shoe (whether it's switched on or off), the camera considers it to be a flash unit. However, it occurred to me to just go to the camera's Flash Function Settings and disable the flash from there when I want to shoot without flash. I added this menu item to the "My Menu" settings so I can access it quickly. Now I can just leave the TT1 in the hot shoe, switched on, and still shoot without flash when I want to.

Just switch to a different channel on your transmitter for those that you don't want to trigger the remote flashes
