Question What strobist gear do you always carry for location work?

Much of my photography is on location - music venues, theatres, poorly lit music classrooms and university/conservatoire music departments and entrance halls. I wondered what strobist gear you would always take with you to an often unknown venue like these which would give you the best chance of getting good results.

Let's keep it down to a single flash for the sake of portability and practicality. Oh, all right then, two if you really must!

What other accessories would be a must for you?

Here's the lighting gear that always goes with me. I do primarily weddings but there is a mix of editorial and commercial work here and there.

I know said keep the speedlights to two but that's not the way I roll! And yes, this all goes with me for every job. Properly packed it is a pretty small bag and I can do almost anything I really need to.

    - (2) 580EX
    - 580EXII
    - (3) External battery packs (Canon OEM and a FlashZebra)
    - Radiopoppers for the 580's (replaced my original Pocket Wizards with them)
    - Justin Clamp
    - Manfrotto Super Clamp
    - A few assorted studs and a Manfrotto Heavy Duty Flex Arm for the super clamp
    - Honl Grids
    - Gels - I like the straw and 1/4 cto for most of my venues but I carry a decent selection of 580 head sized gels that I slap on and secure with gaffers tape (wrapped on all my lens hoods) for quick modification of color temp.
    - Roscoe Diffusion Sheets (like gels but for diffusion)
    - Zoot Snoot
    - Stofen diffuser caps, white, X3 (I cut the top out of one for better bouncing but still a little kick)
    - Optical peanut slaves (2 from FlashZebra) with these I now have three ways to trigger, Radiopoppers, Canon Wireless, and basic optical
    - Canon eTTL cord (I need a longer one)
    - Cheap monopod that I bungee a remote 580 w/battery pack for "light on a stick" stuff
    - Cheap light stand (<$15) with an umbrella adapter in case I can't find a set of willing hands to help. Indoors only for this thing as it's pretty small but I love it!
    -Westcott folding shoot-thru umbrella
-24 spare batteries (MAHA 2700 rechargables)

A Lumiquest 80/20 which I really like with the defuser, and small tea or hand towel, which comes in handy a lot.
